Real People: Thomas
We believe that meaningful change can only come from understanding people and culture. And one of the ways we have decided to illustrate that on our new website is through the introduction of our ‘Real People’ photographic series.
Name: Thomas
Location: Adelaide
Age: 34
What is something that made you feel joy recently?
I picked a zucchini in my garden this morning.
What is your pet peeve?
People getting take away coffee cups and not just sitting down
What do you love about living in your city?
I love the parklands and I can ride my bike on the flat and go for runs with the dog to and from my home without getting in my car.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about understanding and challenging how the patriarchal system affects me and others, particularly how it causes social injustices, included and not limited to the current Palestinian struggle. I’m passionate about social activism against broader injustices but also in my own world, such as wearing earrings as a man.
Square Holes engaged local photographer Thomas McCammon to go out into the community and photograph individuals and locales, while learning about their stories.
Thomas recently travelled overseas to Singapore, and Greece and locally to Adelaide and Sydney, where he took to the streets to meet with passersby to provide a snapshot of their lives. The Real People series is intended as a small insight for our clients and readers into the ‘real people’ driving change.
